Debut Author
Leigh Wallace is the author of Mercy in Doorways, her debut book. With honest storytelling and deep faith in the Messiah, she reveals how His mercy was present in every season of her life, even when she could not see it. She hopes to encourage readers who are struggling to believe that no past is beyond redemption, and no life is out of the reach of God’s transforming grace. Leigh lives in Mississippi, where she enjoys creating handcrafted gifts, writing, and encouraging others in their walk of faith.
My Story
Storytelling was the way I kept siblings entertained when I was a child. Make believe was how we escaped our circumstances before we learned how to read or had access to books. As I wrote down the stories I made up for other children, it never occurred to me that one day I would actually publish my own book. Once I was exposed to classic poetry, I began writing my own poems. Fiction and fantasy claimed my attention.
In my late twenties, I met the Messiah. My thought patterns changed, as did my writing. No longer interested in writing fiction or fantasy, I switched to faith based writing. A friend and I privately published a book of Christian poetry that I wrote, God’s Gifts, which is a whole other story. Perhaps I will share that adventure at a later time.
Since I began following the ancient paths (Hebrew roots), much of my terminology has changed. Yeshua is Hebrew name of Jesus; YHVH (commonly known as God), Yahweh is a form of YHVH that I use frequently. Abba is Father, The Ruach HaKodesh is Hebrew for the Holy Spirit. I might refer to the Complete Jewish Bible without making that notation, but will note if using a different version, King James, for example. Names are important to me, and I prefer to use those original names of those I care for so deeply.
It is my pleasure and purpose to bring positivity and encouragement to as many as the Lord permits.
